OTC Advisor: Advancing Patient Self-Care
A Certificate Program for Pharmacists

This certificate program is being offered in conjunction with
the Pharmacy Practice Seminar. Space is limited to 40 participants.
This will be a comprehensive program which includes
self-study learning modules.

Target Audience: Pharmacists
OTC Advisor was developed by APhA and supported by an unrestricted education grant from Proctor & Gamble.
OTC Advisor consists of 2 components, a self-study and live seminar. 
Self-study Learning component will cover:
1.    The role of the pharmacist as a self-care counseling service
2.    Practical strategies for developing a self-care counseling service
3.    Issues related to self-care for pain, cough, cold, fever, allergy, gastrointestinal disorders, herbals, dietary supplements, skin and mucous membrane disorders
4.    Home diagnostic products available in pharmacies
Live leaning component will cover:
1.    Patient assessment and counseling techniques
2.    Self-care product demonstration and review

acpe 2.jpgThe American Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Successful completion of the live seminar component
involves passing the final exam with a grade of 70%
or higher. Successful completion of this component will
result in 8.0 contact hours of CE credit.

Successful completion of the self-study component invoices passing the self-study assessment questions with a grade of 70% or higher and will result in 18.0 contact hours of CE credit.

A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to participants who successfully complete all program components. No partial CE credit will be provided.

Cancellation notification must be received by 08/07/2009 a refund less $50 administrative fee. 

Self study materials will be mailed to the participant 30 days prior to date of program

**NO WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS. **
