Ralph H. Raasch, PharmD, an associate professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, has been selected as the recipient of the 2008 American College of Clinical Pharmacy Education Award.
The award recognizes an ACCP member who has made substantial and outstanding contributions to clinical pharmacy education at either the professional or postgraduate level. The award will be presented to Raasch during the opening general session at the ACCP’s annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday, October 19 at 9:00 a.m.
Raasch is the executive vice chair for professional education in the School’s Division of Pharmacy Practice and Experiential Education. He joined the School in 1976 and serves as an instructor, course director, and preceptor. He has received numerous teaching awards at the School. He received UNC’s Tanner Distinguished Teacher Award in 1979 and was named the University Professor of Distinguished Teaching in 2001. He was named an ACCP fellow in 2000.
“The School has been fortunate to benefit from Ralph’s knowledge and dedication for more than three decades,” says Steve Caiola, MS, chair of DPPEE, which oversees the School’s professional experience program. “This is a terrific and well-deserved addition to the list of recognitions for the contribution he has made to pharmacy education.”
