Five PharmD Students Earn Scholarships from NPhA, SNPhA
Students from the UNC School of Pharmacy received six scholarships at the annual meetings of the National Pharmaceutical Association and the Student National Pharmaceutical Association in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 20-24.
Five of the twenty $1,000 scholarships for academic excellence went to students in the School’s doctor of pharmacy program. The students and their scholarships are:

Schaffer also received the $1,500 SNPhA Scholarship, which was established in honor of Boka Hadzija, PhD, a professor at the School, for her years of support and dedication to students. Schaffer received the scholarship for demonstrating a history of work geared toward underserved communities and a commitment to professional service.
In addition, the UNC SNPhA chapter was recognized for three awards. The chapter received the Community Outreach Award for its World AIDS Week Initiatives, the Collaboration Award for its Operation Immunization efforts, and the Professional Service Award for the PCAT Preparatory Review.
