The Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products and the Division
of Molecular Pharmaceutics will present a seminar by Jau-Shyong (John)
Hong, PhD, on September 19.

Hong, heads the Neuropharmacology Group within the Laboratory of
Pharmacology and Chemistry at the National Institute of Environmental
Health Sciences. He has published more than three hundred peer-reviewed
articles in leading biomedical journals, as well as fifty book chapters. He was
a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health before joining
NIEHS in 1980. His group studies the molecular mechanisms of activation of
glial cells and the mechanisms of glia-mediated neurotoxicity.
