Pharmacists are on the front lines of health care, and we don’t have enough
of them. That means that a pharmacy degree is your ticket to a rewarding
career almost anywhere in the country. In North Carolina alone, the average
starting salary for a pharmacist is $80,000 to $120,000. They are the
drug-information experts and work hand in hand with other health care
providers in pharmacies, hospitals, industry, and many other areas.
Pharmacy students must be proficient in math, chemistry, and biology. Two
years of college work is required before pharmacy studies begin. Admission
to pharmacy school is competitive. The time to start preparing is now.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy wants to see the best and brightest
joining our profession. That means we have to make sure that bright young
people like you have the opportunity to prepare while they are still in high
school. The effort you put forth will be rewarded many times over.
