Overview
This course consists of a six-day hands-on experience. The course will include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory exercises.

Lecture: Mouse handling; Rat handling; Aseptic techniques
Laboratory: Procedures for handling rats; Aseptic techniques; Surgery
Day 3
Lecture: Non-human primate models
Laboratory: Procedures for handling mice; Necropsy
Day 4
Lecture: Dog models
Laboratory: Large animal handling (dogs and rabbits); Rotations - Behavioral techniques, Isolated perfused liver, Microdialysis, In situ intestinal loop, Portal vein cannulation
Day 5
Laboratory: Large animal dissection (pig); Large animal handling (horse)
Day 6
Laboratory: Rotations - Jugular vein cannulation; Femoral vein cannulation; Portal vein cannulation; Isolated perfused liver; Isolated perfused kidney; In situ brain perfusion; Brain slicing; In situ intestinal loop; Osmotic minipump
