Lisa LaVange, MA, PhD
Lisa LaVange, MA, PhD, is a professor of the practice of biostatistics in the Department of Biostatistics at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and director of the Collaborative Studies Coordinating Center. Prior to her appointments, Dr. LaVange served as vice president of biostatistics at Quintiles Transnational, Corp., followed by vice president of biostatistics and data management at Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. She is a fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and was the ASA Program chair for the 2006 Joint Statistical Meetings. Dr. LaVange served as the 2007 president of the Eastern North American Region/International Biometric Society. Her research focuses on the design and analysis of clinical trials with an emphasis on trials carried out in a regulatory environment, repeated measurements analysis, nonparametric analysis of covariance, and survey data analysis. She has conducted research in the areas of pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, and mental health disorders. Dr. LaVange received her MA in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts and her PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill.
