Soko Setoguchi-Iwata, MD, MPH
Soko Setoguchi-Iwata, MD, MPH, is an associate professor of medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. She received her medical training at Miyazaki Medical College in Japan and an MPH from Harvard University. Dr. Setoguchi is interested in the comparative effectiveness and comparative safety of cardiovascular medications. Her work also focuses on large-database methods for comparative effectiveness/safety research. Dr. Setoguchi’s research has also focused on improving the validity of claims-data research by linking claims data with other data sources, such as registries for cancer and cardiovascular disease and clinical birth records. She has also investigated the care and management of heart-failure patients, and she has conducted multiple studies evaluating the management and outcomes associated with elderly heart-failure patients.
