Margaret “Mimi” Lewis, M.Ed., joined the Office of Student Affairs as coordinator of admissions in July 2013. Her role is to oversee the School’s admissions process, including the review of applications and planning of interview days. Lewis supervises a staff of three who review transcripts and evaluate applications. She also assists with the School’s recruitment efforts, helping to plan events such as open houses and Pharmacy Fridays. She serves as a co-adviser to the Recruitment Ambassadors Program.
Before coming to the School, Lewis worked for two years at American University, first as an admissions counselor and then as an assistant director of admissions. As assistant director, she was responsible for recruiting and reviewing applications for students in Virginia, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Lewis created marketing materials, presented information sessions, conducted interviews, and participated in online chats. She also served as the admissions liaison to the athletics department.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Gettysburg College before going on to earn a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Virginia, where she also completed an internship in the McIntire School of Commerce.
