Jian Jin, PhD, is currently an adjunct associate professor. He was an associate professor in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry, associate director of medicinal chemistry in the Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery, associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology, and member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill until 2014. Prior to joining UNC-Chapel Hill in August 2008, Dr. Jin had more than ten years of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery experience at GlaxoSmithKline, where he had served as a manager of medicinal chemistry from 2003 to 2008. He received a BS in chemistry from University of Science and Technology of China in 1991 and a PhD in natural product total synthesis from the Pennsylvania State University in 1997. He then completed one year of postdoctoral training at the Ohio State University prior to joining GSK. Dr. Jin is currently a Professor of Structural and Chemical Biology, Oncological Sciences, and Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
