"I am pleased to present this new graphic identity for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This identity replaces any logos that already exist, and it is to be used on all stationery, printed materials, Web sites, and videos. Consistent use of the graphic identity will enhance the world's recognition of who we are." — Chancellor James Moeser, September 2004, from the UNC Graphic Identity Manual
In 2004 the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill instituted a University-wide graphic identity system, known to most people simply as the logo, and directed that it be adopted campuswide. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy has done this, and it is our policy to adhere to the standards set by the University.
A logo is design that is instantly recognizable as representative of an organization. Carolina has few symbols, other than its athletic logos, more recognizable than the Old Well. The School of Pharmacy will never be as big or as well known as the University of North Carolina as a whole, and this is true of any school of program within the University. By using the same logo system, each unit benefits from the activity of every other entity on campus in building a logo that is internationally recognizable.
The School's logo is not to be used as decoration or as art but as something more like a signature. The logo may only be reproduced in black, white, or light blue (the ink color is PMS 542).

All units within the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy will use the Pharmacy logo with one exception. With the approval of the School's communications director, research centers and institutes created within the School of Pharmacy are permitted to have a UNC logo with the name of the center or institute. These logos must conform to and abide by the University's graphic identity standards.

School of Pharmacy faculty and staff can find easy-to-use JPEG and PNG versions of the logo on the K drive in the School Logo folder. If you need the logo in another format or size, please contact David Etchison, director of communications, at 966-7744 or david_etchison@unc.edu. Do not print the blue logo from a desktop printers. See the do's and don't's below for more information.
Logos are created by University Design Services.
