Dr. Roth is an assistant professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy and a research assistant professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Center for Aging and Health at the UNC School of Medicine.
Dr. Roth’s practice, teaching, and research center on the care of older adults. Her research involves evaluating the quality of medication use in older adults who reside in the community setting and developing innovative strategies and programs to improve the quality of medication use in this population. Dr. Roth is specifically interested in developing, implementing, and evaluating medication therapy management services as a means to improving the quality of medication use and health outcomes in older adults. Dr. Roth has a five-year Research and Career Development Award (NIH K23) from the National Institutes on Aging for her proposal Improving the Quality of Medication Use in Older Adults.
Dr. Roth received her doctor of pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and completed a clinical pharmacy residency at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Roth also completed a masters in clinical research from the School of Medicine at Duke University. She is a fellow in the Clinical Research Curriculum (K30 program) at the University of North Carolina.
