This section contains information of various classroom environments: interactive lecturing, group work (cooperative learning), discussions, and using technology. The choice of format will depend on the goals of the class. Lecture is a very efficient way to transmit information but discussion is better suited for long-term retention and development of other skill sets (e.g., communicatin, problem solving). Group work is a powerful learning tool if used correctly and it may be a great choice for the next generation of learners, the Millennial generation. Teaching with technology is always under scrutiny - though technology can be helpful, it is merely a tool and can never replace an instructor versed in instructional design.
