ADDING CONTENT TO YOUR LAB SITE: ADD IMAGE

To use an image, you first have to upload it. Go to the appropriate folder where you want the photo to be stored, and click “add item” and pick “image”. You’ll be prompted to give the image a name and, if you want, a description. The description will not appear anywhere on the image. The name you give to the image on this page will be the name by which the system recognizes the image, not the filename. In other words, if you have a file on your desktop named “profile.jpg”, but when you upload it, you name it “mugshot”, you will see that image as “mugshot” in the system, not “profile.jpg”.

After you’ve uploaded an image, you can go back and replace it without changing the item’s name. Go into “content” view and click on the image item. This takes you to a page that only has a link that says your photo’s name and “Click to view full-size image”. Click on the “edit” button. This will give you options to change the item name and either keep, delete, or replace the existing image. If you pick replace, you can then just use the Browse box to upload another picture. Hit “SAVE” at the bottom of the page when you’re done.

NOTE: After you update an image and then go to view it, you might have to hit “Reload” or “Refresh” on your browser to show the new image. If that doesn’t work, trying clearing your browser’s cache and then reloading the page.
