Updating an Existing Image
IMAGES: UPDATING AN EXISTING IMAGE
I think our photo will look a lot better if we cropped off the top half (ok, not really, but let’s just say so for the sake of this example). So we crop the picture, and now we need to update it in the system. To do that:
- Navigate to the folder where the photo is stored, and click on “contents” in the second row of buttons at the top.
- Click on My Grant Photo from the list. This takes you to a page that has only the file’s title and a link that says “Click to view full-size image”. While you’re on this page, click “edit”. This will take you into the Edit Image page.
- Scroll down to the Image field. You’ll see the current image displayed, along with three options underneath it. Pick “Replace with new image”, and click on the Browse button and upload the cropped photo. When you’re done, click “save” at the bottom of the page.
- Now, if you go back to the Grants page, you’ll notice that the My Grant Photo image we previously inserted has been updated with the cropped photo. This is because even though we changed the photo, we kept its title the same. This means you can give your cropped photo a different filename on the computer, but as long as you keep the title in the site’s system the same, it’ll automatically update.

NOTE: You might need to hit Refresh or Reload a couple times before your browser displays the new image. If that still doesn’t work, try clearing the cache (memory) of your browser.
