Faculty & Research

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy faculty understand that the practice and science of pharmacy is constantly changing—because they are changing it. They have dedicated themselves to breakthrough research, cutting-edge health-care methods, and innovative instruction. Using a variety of methods to engage students in the classroom, in the lab and in experiential settings, our faculty help prepare students for a future in research, industry, practice, or education.

The faculty of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy consists of approximately seventy-five on-campus and thirty off-campus clinical practitioners and researchers who work on the leading edge of pharmaceutical practice and research. Their expertise translates directly to the quality of the education received by our professional and graduate students for whom they serve as teachers, mentors, and preceptors.

Our faculty is aggressively pursuing research programs that range from the search for new drugs and delievery methods to the assessments of the effectiveness of existing drugs and treatment regimens. They collaborate with individuals, schools, and centers across the UNC campus, the state, and around the world. Their discoveries and the knowledge they create translate directly into a better education for our students, economic benefits for our state and region, and better health for our citizens.
