Biography:
After obtaining early pharmacy training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy), Dr. Rodgers completed a pharmacy practice and critical care specialty residency at the Medical College of Virginia followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy at UNC. Dr. Rodgers maintains an active clinical practice with the UNC Cardiomyopathy and Cardiac Transplantation Service at UNC Hospitals. Teaching is a major focus of her time including serving as co-coordinator of the cardiology specialty residency, adviser to Kappa Epsilon, and coordinator of the cardiology therapeutics module and the acute care elective. Dr. Rodgers has a primary research interest in the care of heart failure patients. Dr. Rodgers is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. Dr. Rodgers received the 2004-2005 national Outstanding Adviser Award and the 2006-07 Career Achievement Award from Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
Research Interests:
Cardiovascular-based clinical and translational research with an emphasis in cardiomyopathy and cardiac transplantation.
