Dr. Boka W. Hadzija received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. at the University of Zagreb, Croatia and conducted her post-doctoral training at the University of Connecticut - Storrs from 1961-1963. She joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1971 and is currently a Professor in the Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics. Dr. Hadzija’s expertise is in the basic and physicochemical areas of Pharmaceutics which she teaches at the professional and graduate levels.
Dr. Hadzija has received over 30 teaching awards from the University and the School of Pharmacy at Chapel Hill; among those is the most prestigious award from the University’s Board of Governors given to the member of the faculty who excels in teaching. She is also a member of the University’s Academy of Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Hadzija’s research interests are in the study of the stability and solubility of drugs as well as the drug delivery (iontophoresis) and disposition. She has published numerous scientific papers and presented her research results at national and international meetings.
