The Life of a UNC PhD

UNC-Chapel Hill and the School of Pharmacy are committed to providing students with the highest quality graduate education. While this clearly entails academic training and research, it also includes a commitment to providing students with activities, resources and services to enhance their graduate experience.

At the School of Pharmacy, the Graduate Student Organization facilitates communication among graduate students within the School’s five divisions and with the faculty and administration of the University, encourages participation in university, state and national graduate student/scientific organizations, encourages interaction between graduate and undergraduate students, and plans social activities.

Other resources for UNC graduate students include the Graduate Student Center and Graduate Student Professional Development.

The excellent rapport that exists among schools, departments, institutes, and centers within UNC-Chapel Hill facilitates interdisciplinary, collaborative research by graduate students and faculty. The graduate degree programs also benefit from faculty affiliations with GlaxoSmithKline, Inc., Research Triangle Institute, Duke University, Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, and many other organizations in the Research Triangle Park area.

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy held its commencement ceremony on May 10, and ten PhD candidates received their degrees.
