Students enrolled in the DPOP PhD program have a variety of previous training experiences and backgrounds. Although a pharmacy or other health care degree is preferable, such a degree is not required for admission to the program. Current PhD students include:

Anne is interested in pharmacoeconomics, cost-effectiveness research and health outcomes of chronic diseases like kidney disease and hypertension. She is also interested of racial disparities in chronic disease care.

Jonas is interested in Medicare Part D and hopes to evaluate the medication switching behavior of patients in the donut hole while taking brand name products.

Rishi's research interest is pharmacoepidemiology of the drugs used to treat chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and arthritis. He has a keen interest in comparative effectiveness of drugs in clinical practice.
