PhD Program
The PhD in pharmaceutical sciences offers you a rigorous grounding in a broad range of disciplines critical to your success as a pharmaceutical scientist in academia and industry. PhD students choose a concentration in one of the School's four academic divisions, each of which corresponds to a stage in the drug-development cycle:
- Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy
- Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry
- Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics
- Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics
The goal of the program is to prepare graduates for leadership positions in academia, industry, and government sectors. Students will develop solid research skills, enabling them to conduct quality research directed at improving the use and cost-effectiveness of pharmaceutical products, technology, and services in society.
All students are encouraged to develop a proposed course of study with their respective advisors that fits their unique interests.
