Anne “Annie” Hager-Blunk is the associate dean for advancement and president of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Foundation.
Before joining the School in 2013, she was vice president for alumni and health-care giving at the Medical Foundation of North Carolina. She was with the medical foundation for eighteen years, and she and her team played a major role in soliciting the $600 million in gifts made to the UNC School of Medicine during the Carolina First Campaign.
Hager-Blunk has approximately thirty years’ experience fund-raising for nonprofits. She began her career with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and then worked with the American Heart Association for eleven years, first as senior regional director in Winston-Salem and then as director of development for the state office in Chapel Hill. She joined UNC in 1995 as a senior development officer for the Medical Foundation.
In 2002 she became the director of development for the Department of Surgery and was promoted to vice president for departmental programs in 2006. She holds bachelor’s degrees in communications and psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill and is a certified fund raising executive.
