Wendy Cox, PharmD

Wendy Cox, PharmD, has been promoted to clinical associate professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education. She is assistant dean for professional education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Cox has been with the School since 2005. She received her doctor of pharmacy from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 1998.

In 1999, Cox completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, and then completed a primary care residency affiliated with Campell University in 2000.

Before joining the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2005, Cox worked as coordinator of pharmacy education at the Northwest Area Health Education Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and also as director of pharmacotherapy services at the Wake AHEC with a clinical practice in primary care.

Cox first joined the School as director of student services and clinical assistant professor. She was named assistant dean for professional education in 2010. As assistant dean, Cox is responsible for admissions and curricular affairs.

Cox is currently involved in activities related to admissions, curricular design, and education methods. She has contributed to eleven published articles with three more in press on topics ranging from the evaluation of test scores in university admissions to overviews of student clubs at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
