RASP poster presentations capture student research

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and NC A&T partner to establish early assurance program

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, the No.1 pharmacy school in the country, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) have established an Early Assurance Program (EAP). Monash University students experience pharmacy education in the U.S.

Five pharmacy students from Monash University in Australia, a PharmAlliance partner, are about to complete their eight-week visiting scholars program with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER).   Each visiting scholar is a fourth-year student in Monash’s Bachelor of Pharmacy program. They will receive their master’s after their upcoming fifth-year internship. UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy maintains No. 1 residency match rate in U.S. among schools with 75+ students registering to match

Updated April 11, 2024  Pharm.D. students from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy maintained the No. 1 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) PGY1 residency match rate among schools of pharmacy in the U.S. with 75 or more students registering to match. Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society inducts 28 students

Established in 1922, the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society encourages and recognizes excellence in intellectual achievement and advocates critical inquiry in all aspects of pharmacy.  The Rho Chi Xi Chapter in Chapel Hill held its annual induction ceremony at the Carolina Inn on March 9, welcoming 28 second year Pharm.D. students into the prestigious organization. White Coat Ceremony 2024

Students in the Class of 2025 received their white coats on March 2, marking their transition from the classroom to the pharmacy profession. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is unique in that Pharm.D. students don’t receive their white coat until the end of their third year, whereas most pharmacy schools hand out white coats in the first year. Asheville Summit brings inspiration for innovations in pharmacy practice

Nearly 80 people came out to explore innovations in pharmacy practice at the tenth annual Asheville Summit. History of pharmacy school desegregation

In honor of Black History Month, the stories of the first three African American students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy have been documented in a paper published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education.   The paper, entitled “From Desegregation and Integration to Diversity and Inclusion: The Environment Was Just Ice”, was led by alumna Christian Brown, Pharm.D. ‘23, alongside Carla Y.
