Prerequisite Course Evaluation: Foreign Credits

I have taken or will take at least one course at an institution outside of the United States and Canada.

Step 1

Have your foreign course(s) evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. You can find a list of members at http://www.naces.org/members.htm.

Step 2

Submit your evaluation to PharmCAS as part of the Phase I application packet. This information will be sent to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Step 3

Go to http://pharmacy.unc.edu/admissions/pharmd/preequisites/courses and print out the list of PharmD courses. Cross out the required prerequisite coursewsork you have fulfilled. The courses that are left are the ones you need to take in order to finish your prerequisites.

Step 4

Check http://www.pharmacy.unc.edu/admissions/pharmd/faq#prerequisite for frequently asked questions about prerequisite courses, especially calculus, statistics, and anatomy and physiology. There is a link there for AP, IB, and CLEP score standards at UNC Chapel Hill there as well. Continue to fill in your column from Step 4 if you learn that one or more of your courses will fulfill a PharmD prerequisite.

Step 5 (for non-degree applicants only)

Go to http://pharmacy.unc.edu/admissions/pharmd/how-to-apply/new-general-education-requirements-comparison-chart.pdf. This chart shows what general education requirements are fulfilled by UNC Chapel Hill courses.
