UNC/ECSU Doctor of Pharmacy Partnership Program

The UNC/ECSU Doctor of Pharmacy Partnership Program was established by the North Carolina legislature with three goals in mind.

  • To increase the number of pharmacy graduates from the University of North Carolina system
  • To increase the number of pharmacists practicing in underserved areas of the state, particularly in northeastern North Carolina
  • To develop a workforce of pharmacy practitioners and educators that reflects the ethnic and cultural diversity of the citizens of the state

These goals are being pursued through an interinstitutional collaboration between the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Elizabeth City State University. Students are admitted into a single accredited degree program through a single admission process with the participation of faculty representing both campuses. Upon completion of degree requirements, students receive a doctor of pharmacy from UNC-Chapel Hill with acknowlegement of the partnership with ECSU.

For more information contact Carla White Harris, director of UNC-Chapel Hill/ECSU PharmD Partnership Program, at carla_whiteharris@unc.edu or 919-966-7571.
