Academic Administrative Fellowship

A strategic initiative of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is to develop a comprehensive system of recruitment strategies, activities, and programs to advance the development of an inclusive and diverse pharmacy workforce. The system will encompass a continuum of recruitment activities with an emphasis on recruiting underrepresented individuals. Recruitment begins at the middle school and high school level and continues into the college or university level for entry into the professional and graduate programs.

The School seeks to attract the most talented up-and-coming professional and promising scholar for further training in an administrative career in higher education. To this end, the administrative fellowship program offers a twelve-month postgraduate training program in management, program development, teaching, and scholarship. The program provides participants with opportunities to broaden their experience through working in an academic environment as a mid-level administrator.

The fellow will have the following one-year goals:

  • Enrich and diversify the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill community by bringing talented professionals to the University
  • Develop individuals to serve in leadership roles in academia and pharmacy administration
  • Provide opportunities to design, develop, and implement innovative programming
  • Gain specialized and in-depth training within pharmacy administration
  • Foster professional development and growth, expert collaboration, career advancement, and visibility
