STARs (Student Technology Assistant Resources)

At the beginning of each semester we recruit students from each class (i.e., PY1, PY2, PY3) who will be responsible for helping faculty and guest lecturers operate the audiovisual equipment in the computerized classroom.

STARs attend their regularly scheduled required courses and help faculty ensure that all equipment is set and ready for lecture. For example, a lecturer may want to use the overhead camera to project the image of a certain device to the classroom. The STAR's job is to help him configure the control panel and focus the camera on the device.

The pay is $300/semester. All STARs receive training during the first full week of classes from Casey Emerson, the School's Videoconferencing Manager.
