Adding Content
Adding Content
To add a folder, page, image, or file, you first must be in a folder (as opposed to a page). The way to tell whether you are on a page or a folder is to look at the row of editing buttons:

If you are in a folder, you will see a “Content” button. If you are on anything else, you will not see the “Content” button.
Now that you are in the folder where you want to add the content, click the “Add New” button in the second row of editing buttons. This will bring up a dropdown menu:

There are bunch of stuff in this list, but the only ones you should need are File, Folder, Image, Link, and Page. A quick explanation of each:
- Page: This is the basic building block of the site. When you want to put text on the site, you have to put it on a page. If you want to display an image, you should put it on a page. When you add a page, it is also automatically added to the left navigation tree.
- Folder: They work on much the same concept as a folder in Windows. They are used to hold a number of items, such as pages, images, files, or other folders. When you add a folder, it is also automatically added to the left navigation tree.
- Image: The Web site can display JPG, GIF, and PNG formats. Once you’ve uploaded an image to the site, you can then insert it into a page. When you add an image, it is NOT added to the left navigation tree.
- File: This refers to anything that’s not an image or Flash file. The most common files we have on the site are Word documents and PDFs. Once you’ve uploaded a file to the site, you can then insert a link to that file in a page. When you add a file, it is NOT added to the left navigation tree.
- Link: Use this when you want to add a link to the left navigation tree without adding a page or a folder to the site. An example of when you would want to do this is if you want to add a link in your navigation to another Web site, or to an image or file that you’ve uploaded (since neither of those types of items appear in the navigation tree when they are added).
From this dropdown list, pick the item type you want to add.
If you picked Page, this is what you see:

Fill in the Title box. The Description field is optional (and we generally don’t put anything there). Then put the actual content of the page in the Body Text box.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
If you picked Folder, this is what you see:

Fill in the Title box. The Description field is optional (and we generally don’t put anything there).
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
If you picked Image, this is what you see:

Fill in the Title box. The Description field is optional (and we generally don’t put anything there). Click the Browse button and choose the photo you want to upload. It should be in either JPG, GIF, or PNG format.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
If you picked File, this is what you see:

Fill in the Title box. The Description field is optional (and we generally don’t put anything there). Click the Browse button and choose the file you want to upload. NOTE: If you are trying to upload a photo, do not add it as a File. Add it as an Image instead.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
