Ralph Raasch, PharmD

Ralph H. Raasch, PharmD, is associate professor of pharmacy and executive vice chair for education of the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Experiential Education and chair of the Clinical and Tranlational Research Center Oversight Committee of the UNl Clinical and Translational Research Award. He also serves as co-director of the UNC CTSA Education Core and K30 Award program (since 2000), and as coprincipal investigator for the Carolina Collaborative (Duke-UNC) Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit since 2003. Raasch maintains an active clinical and educational practice as a clinical specialist in infectious diseases at UNC Hospitals. Raasch was elected fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy in November 2000 and received the ACCP Education Award in 2008. He is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist.

Raasch's research focus has been in patient-oriented research to improve the efficiency of antimicrobial and antiretroviral therapy.

Research Interests

Optimization of antimicrobial therapy through evaluation of inpatient antimicrobial use, drug interactions, medication adherence, and pharmacokinetics.
