Davon Townsend, PharmD
Davon Townsend is a North Carolina native and received her BS in biochemistry with honors from North Carolina State University in 2006. Before entering pharmacy school, she worked as manager and production supervisor for Unit Dose Solutions, a pharmaceutical outsourcing company in Research Triangle Park. Townsend recently completed her PharmD, May 2011, at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Townsend is currently serving as the inaugural Academic Postdoctoral Fellow in the Office of Recruitment, Development and Diversity Initiatives at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The mission of the Office of Recruitment, Development, and Diversity Initiatives is to recruit, retain, and develop the next generation of pharmacy leaders, including outstanding practitioners, faculty, and staff. This academic appointment offers a twelve-month postgraduate training program in management, program development, and teaching and scholarship, through service as a mid-level administrator. To maintain a clinical practice and skills, Townsend also works for Walgreens.
Townsend has received numerous scholarships and awards. She was recently featured on the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy homepage as the recipient of the Samuel Burrus Award recognizing her outstanding contributions to the School and her community.
